Nature-based Solutions Catalogue of Implemented Best Practices in the Danube

Project Deliverable HE EcoDaLLi • Biodiversity and Ecosystems Services & Restoration

Drawing on a wide range of NbS case studies on Upper/Middle/Lower Danube and its delta, the catalogue demonstrates the effectiveness of methodologies in delivering tangible environmental, social, and economic benefits, including biodiversity enhancement, habitat restoration, strengthened cross-border cooperation, improved monitoring and adaptive management, increased public engagement, and opportunities for sustainable local development.

It highlights key best practices, as well as the environmental, socio-cultural, and economic impacts achieved through these interventions. The catalogue also emphasises the importance of participatory processes, reflecting the active involvement of stakeholders and local communities throughout project development and implementation. In addition, it identifies key lessons learned and provides insights into the replication and scalability potential of successful solutions, offering valuable guidance for future NBS initiatives aimed at ecological restoration and sustainable development.

This Annex contains the complete catalogue of NBS projects available on the EcoDaLLi portal. The interactive digital version is available here:  EcoDaLLi Portal
