Urban Nature Data and Decision-Making, A Briefing for Cities
How can cities make better use of the environmental data they already have?
Laura Wendling (University of East London) explores practical approaches to centralising urban nature data to support better planning and decision-making. Using the Three-Layer Model from London and Berlin's Umweltatlas as real-world examples, she demonstrates how cities can improve data governance, integrate information across departments, and develop effective decision-support tools. The presentation also provides an overview of common data platforms and concludes with a pragmatic six-step pathway to help cities make better use of the data they already have.
