UrbanByNature is delighted to host a webinar to launch the Guidelines for Urban Forests as Nature-based Solutions.  The Guidelines provide recognition on how important trees and associated green infrastructure can deliver nature based solutions in cities and urban areas. Indeed, as the Guidelines explain, how these ‘urban forests’ are managed makes a significant difference in terms of how they assist biodiversity recovery and urban resilience to climate change.  The guidelines bring research and innovation together in particular with regards to planning, policy and delivery; cost effective restoration and rehabilitation management; mechanisms for public and stakeholder engagement and change management and institutional reform.

The guidelines are a product of the CLEARING HOUSE projectwhich brought together China and Europe to analyse and develop the potential of nature-based solutions.  The project received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement no. 821242 and the National Key R&D Programme of China under grant no. 2021YFE0193200.  All project outputs can be found at https://www.clearinghouseproject.eu/
