Guidelines for Design, Implementation, Integration and Management of Urban Innovative NbS
Within the NICE project, a range of innovative NbS—including green walls, rain gardens, and treatment wetlands—have been developed and implemented to treat stormwater, greywater, combined sewer overflows, and river water across diverse urban contexts. To ensure their credibility, effectiveness, and replicability, these solutions have been assessed against the IUCN Global Standard for Nature-based Solutions. This resource presents how the NICE pilots align with the Standard’s criteria and provides practical guidance to support the design, implementation, evaluation, and replication of NbS in cities seeking sustainable and resilient water management solutions.
